BOR is led by a team of dedicated practitioners, ocean advocates, and philanthropic investors. We are in the process of developing a core group of strategic investors and working sponsor partnerships in each of our different membership profiles, industry segments, and areas of operational focus. We are also developing dialogue with a number of the noted potential stakeholder organizations below, and we look forward to welcoming these and other partners to our growing alliance network. While not all of the organizations noted are formal partners, we intend to work and collaborate with these organizations toward shared goals, and to collaborate with many of them in appropriate approved projects in the years to come.
BOR seeks to align our multi-stakeholder international community with established governance bodies overseeing oceanic issues. We are in conversations with relevant UN agencies, including the Division of Oceanic Affairs and the Law of the Sea. We also are seeking collaboration with UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission on how best to establish responsible and successful resource development pilot projects in various regions around the world. We embrace the UN Global Compact and are aligned in purpose with the Sustainable Development Goals and have a strong alignment with SDG 14.
BOR seeks to develop working alliances, partnerships, and funding and operational support with the leading ocean advocates around the world. We are committed to creating awareness and opportunities around ocean resource innovation based on a firm commitment to environmentally sustainable and carbon neutral scientific research and project development initiatives designed for optimizing oceanic resources for responsible planetary and economic benefits.
BOR has identified project locations in strategic areas capable of providing long term carbon neutral benefits in science, energy, water, minerals, and related ocean resources to various international regions and country-specific locations. In addition to the US, EU, and ASEAN, we have initiated conceptual and project development discussions in several countries that we are confident will be interested in jointly developing productive and compliant seafloor mapping, data collection, and development partnering in their exclusive economic zones (EEZ's) as well as in nearby international waters.
Several of BOR's honorary advisors and leading operational partners have career backgrounds working for some of the federal government's most important agencies and departments. From global energy strategy to executive commercial initiatives, national climatology monitoring, and even the departments of Defense, Interior, and NASA all have specific interests in assuring that the ocean's natural resource endowments are better understood and responsibly developed in line with national interests and strategies.
BOR intends to work with leading scientific and research based organizations in the US national laboratory system. Our mission as a US-based non-profit organization is help promote US publicly funded research and exploration as well as patent holders and and national interests more broadly, all in alignment with our other international governance and operational partners. We are communicating with the laboratories noted above based on an aligned commitment to these priorities, and we intend to become a preferred partner in helping leading scientists and corporations to responsibly develop global ocean resources.
In additional to international and federal stakeholders, BOR is exploring pilot project ideas with a number of states where offshore ocean development stands to greatly contribute to economic development and social welfare. A number of coastal states and strategically aligned state leaders have expressed an interest in exploring these opportunities, and we hope to eventually work with all coastal states and other states with aligned maritime interests as appropriate.
BOR is will work with a number of leading US universities and research institutions focused on energy and ocean-based biology, chemistry, and ecology. This and other leading edge research around ocean floor mapping, data collection, mining technologies and clean energy development will be an ongoing priority in for BOR alliance initiatives.
BOR will work with a handful of the world's leading energy corporations and innovators in different regions around the world. Unlike traditional and renewable energy providers, BOR projects will incorporate major base load energy development potential and an optimized carbon light footprint from day one of each operation. We look forward to working with and enabling the world's future energy innovators and leading maritime renewable energy corporations.
BOR sees tomorrow's deep sea resource development platforms as power sources and distribution centers for deep sea and floating desalinization plants run on carbon neutral or hydrothermal energy. We are exploring partnerships with leading water resource providers and distributors to jointly help address the world's growing potable water shortage.
BOR views the Rare Earth Elements and critical mineral deposits found in the Ocean's deep sea manganese nodules and seamount mineral deposits as a timely and unprecedented global opportunity to mine vital resources from the earth's greatest supply source without needing to disrupt ocean habitats or impact existing geological formations. We envision working with the world's next generation of resource mining innovators to help responsibly develop this unrealized supply chain for new technologies and the emerging blue economy.
In certain environments BOR deep ocean platforms will be well positioned to host one or more aquaculture operations. In these instances we aim to collaborate with existing deep sea fishing and farm projects through relationships with leading innovators in these areas. In addition to fish and seaweed harvesting, we expect to also deploy a number of blue carbon projects as a complement to other carbon neutral and carbon credit elements of each operation.
One of the elements of each BOR ocean platform will involve large scale business partnerships for services in legal, consulting, port management, and shipping and logistics services. We are speaking with a number of leading providers in each area in hopes of developing preferred working partnerships in different regions around the world.
BOR has initiated conversations with a number of leading global designers, builders, and providers of deep sea platforms, electric power generators and converters, and other deep sea life support systems. We intend to work with the world's leading providers to assure each platform maximizes harvesting opportunities of each ocean ecosystem in compliance with carbon-optimized and ecologically sustainable protocols.
